POTUS Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive
Marketing Collateral for 7 Strong Characters
Reading this script had me laughing out loud, imaging the scenarios. Meeting the director and actors in person for the photoshoot cemented that this one is going to be amazing!
My friends at The Footlight Club were putting together their production of Selina Fillinger’s POTUS Or Behind Every Great Dumbass are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive.
To help market the show and build a flexible system, we built a library of branded portraits of the actors, to be used across a wide variety of media, including social and print.

The Character Portraits

Our design started with Director Maryann Zschau’s vision of strong women in demanding roles. We added some punk rock esthetics and a touch of chaos to represent the realities of the world.
Maryann had a very clear vision for the personalities of each character and worked with the actors on our photo set to evoke those emotions.
Photographing each actor separately allowed us to really play with their expressions and gave us maximum flexibility to compose the group composites for multiple formats.
The Results
The results of our branding photo shoot was an excellent presales period with lots of responses to the social media campaign.
As always, collaborating with the incredibly hard working teams of cast and creative at The Footlight Club was a blast.
Supporting Live Theater!
At last count, I have created over 70 posters over the years, for a wide variety of productions.
Like any client, theaters have their own unique challenges and rewards.
The biggest reward, for me, is helping to support live theater, especially at this level.
Go out and support your local community theater, whether it is buying a ticket and going to a show or getting involved as an usher, actor, producer or photographer.
You will have so much fun!
