If you are like me, the idea of my “personal brand” sounded pretty silly when I first heard it.

And, yet, once you push aside all the knee jerk reactions, the idea of personal branding is the same thing that your mother probably told you many years ago, “You only get one chance to make a first impression. So, make it the best you can!”

Most of us do business and network online as much or even more than in person.

Whether you are handing out business cards with your web site, surfing around LinkedIn, setting up business pages on Facebook, Yahoo, Google etc, we are making first impressions all the time.

We just never see the ones that get away any more.
